A UK-registered charity (EIA UK, Charity No. 1182208) and a separate US 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIA US), each governed by its own board. EIA investigates environmental crime and campaigns to eliminate HFCs from refrigeration. It does not file shareholder resolutions itself: with Green America it co-published an SEC exempt-solicitation urging Walmart shareholders to back the 2021 HFC-disclosure proposal filed by the Rhode Island Treasurer's office, and ran a comparable public campaign at Kroger in 2022.
